Did You Know That Berries Actually Have Super Powers?

Well, at least that's what I believe. The importance of healthy nutrition is key in stopping the number of people getting chronic illnesses. There was a recent study that showed that poor diet is responsible for more deaths from chronic disease, than those who have died from smoking. Pretty scary stuff. "We have the ability to prevent about 80 percent of chronic disease through simple lifestyle habits" (karen Thomas Penn State) and nutrition is at the top of the list.

Listen up!! Berries have been found to be high in antioxidants, which help fight inflammation. Inflammation is a natural process of our body's immune response that acts as a protective mechanism.

But, when inflammation becomes uncontrolled, it damages the body. It plays a major role in chronic disease, including heart disease, chronic pain, memory loss and autoimmune diseases.

Berries contain antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation. The berries that would fall into this category are blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and cranberries. It's time to start adding more berries to your diet.

Berries can be eaten fresh or added to many foods. Try my delicious smoothie recipe not only for the amazing nutrition but will also help reduce inflammation.
